Yoga's 54 + Program
|
This experience is designed for those who are feeling the stiffness, ill-health and diminishing vitality that comes with age, most noticeable after age 54. |
| Designed by one who has none of those symptoms after having over 6 decades of living in the material world. |
David has been putting this program together, and practicing its techniques over the last two years, basing it on his 40 years of experience with the re-vitalizing forces of Yoga.

Yesudian doing Hatha Yoga Dandhal body building - 1940
|
Far from being created for a young acrobatic generation, this course has been thought out in consideration of those who could benefit greatly from yoga but shy away because of postures and positions impossible for them. Yoga has been used as a re-generating and anti-aging system for centuries without being acrobatic. In this program the methods of deep breathing which stimulate cell rejuvenation through increased Oxygen can be done sitting in a chair. The postures and movements required to enhance circulation of the oxygen to all needy body parts can be done by anyone who can still move enough to breathe, while simply progressing to more advanced movements one step at a time, one day at a time.
The program is individualized for each participant, and done in small groups.
Some basic physiology and anatomy is taught so as to develop understanding of the principles of metabolism in this context of re-vitalizing organs and glands; explained with pictures and slides without getting too meticulous or overly detailed about every body function. More important is the experience of feeling the process as youthful vitality returns to our body systems.
|
Techniques include:
- Hatha Yoga posture and movement synchronized with breath.
- Expansion of this into Hatha Yoga Dandhal for grounding and centering the mind into the here and now experience of body re-building.
- Moving flows for awakening the chakra energies.
- Pranayama techniques to rejuvenate specific glands and organs that are in need.
- Simplified exercises and modifications that can be applied to daily life.
- Tools for using the mind as a guide to healing and revitalizing.
- Relaxation with the Silence of Meditation.
|
Cost for the course is $1000 usd, plus food and accommodation, both of which are very economical in the Philippines as well as at the center in Thailand.
The program in April will be given on the island of Palawan beginning August 17th and running til September 17th, and thereafter on your own.

This program is inspired by David's present state of health:
"I feel the same now as I did at age 21 but with more physical abilities then I had at that time; I swim farther, bike longer, run easier and sleep less. My immune system works at peak efficiency without any medical crutches. This is the result of the application of yoga to my daily life over the years." |

A New Beginning
I came to the 54+ rejuvenation program at pyramid yoga thinking I was reasonably fit, but soon found out I was as stiff as a length of 4 x 2 timber. During the four-week course I rediscovered muscles and joints I forgot I had, but oh my goodness, the aches and pains as these muscles and joints became reactivated after being asleep for too many years. Watching postures being done by David, I thought to myself, there is no way I could do these, but much to my surprise one day I found myself with my legs spread apart my head on the floor. As I became more flexible and agile I felt somewhat like a child discovering what my body could do, much to my amazement. It is true to say that I have put in the effort to get where I am now, but it is also true to say that this has come about by David's unstinted guidance and patience. As I became fitter, I found I was able to rid my mind of the unwanted rubbish which has accumulated over the years and I feel lighter within myself, I also feel taller as my muscles have loosened. Apart from the physical practice I found ease of mind with David's breathing techniques and meditation sessions which go hand in hand with the physical. By the way, I am 69 years of age and I feel that the 54+ rejuvenation course has given me not only a new lease on life but also has improved the quality of my life.
I leave pyramid yoga a far healthier person than when I came, and to anyone thinking of such a course I will wholeheartedly say “have a go”, and would highly recommend pyramid in Koh Phangan.
Thanks David
